تعطلت سيارتك للتو في الرياض. إليك ما يجب فعله بعد ذلك

It happens at the worst possible moment. You are on King Fahd Road in traffic, or pulling out of a compound in Al Yasmin, or leaving the office in Al Olaya at the end of a long day — and the car stops.

The next fifteen minutes matter. Here is a clear order of steps, from the moment the car stops to the moment it is on its way to a workshop.

First: get yourself somewhere safe

Before you think about the car, think about where you are standing.

If you are on a highway or a fast road, do not stay in the driving lane and do not stand behind the vehicle. Move the car onto the hard shoulder if it still has momentum. Switch on hazard lights immediately. Get out from the passenger side if traffic is passing on your side, and wait well away from the road — not leaning against the car.

If you are in a car park or a residential street, you have more time. Put the hazards on anyway so nobody reverses into you, and check whether you are blocking an exit or a ramp.

In summer, do not sit in the car with the engine off. Riyadh afternoon heat inside a stationary vehicle becomes dangerous faster than most people expect. Find shade, a nearby shop, or a building lobby.

Second: work out what actually happened

You do not need to be a mechanic. You just need enough detail to describe the problem on the phone, because that determines what kind of help gets sent.

The car will not start at all — no crank, no lights, or very dim lights. This is almost always the battery, and it is by far the most common call we get in Riyadh. Summer heat is hard on batteries; one that worked fine in March often gives up in July. The important part: this frequently does not need a tow at all. A battery jump start can have you driving again in a few minutes.

The engine turns over but will not fire, or it stalled while driving. This one needs a workshop. The car will need to be moved.

Something happened suddenly at speed — a bang, a loss of steering, a warning light with smoke or smell. Stop driving. Do not try to reach the workshop yourself, even if it is close. The car needs to be transported.

You have had a collision. Handle the accident procedure first — that comes before any towing arrangement. Once the paperwork side is underway, the vehicle needs تعافي الحوادث, which is different from a standard tow because the car often cannot roll or steer.

Third: do not let anyone drag your car

This is the part people get wrong, usually because someone nearby offers to help.

Pulling a car with a rope or a chain — or lifting only the front wheels — puts load on the gearbox, suspension and bumper mounts. On a modern automatic, on any all-wheel-drive vehicle, and on anything with low ground clearance, this causes damage that costs far more than the tow you were trying to avoid.

Electric vehicles are the strictest case. A Tesla or any EV has no neutral gear in the way a petrol car does, and rolling it on its own wheels can damage the drive motors. EVs must go on a flatbed. There is no exception to this.

Satha Care runs hydraulic flatbed trucks only, for exactly this reason. The whole car goes up onto the bed and nothing touches the road.

Fourth: call, and have three things ready

The call takes under a minute if you have these ready:

  1. Where the car is. Sending a live location pin on WhatsApp is far better than describing a street — it removes all guesswork and the driver goes straight there.
  2. Where it needs to go. Your usual workshop, the dealership, an insurance-approved garage, or home. If you do not have one in mind, say so and we can suggest options in your area.
  3. What is wrong with it. Even a rough description is enough: “it won’t start”, “I had an accident”, “the front wheel is damaged”, “it’s in the basement”.

That last detail matters more than people realise. It determines which truck is dispatched, and it means the driver arrives with the right equipment rather than having to come back.

Call 0535382161, or send a location pin on WhatsApp.

Typical arrival across Riyadh is 20 to 35 minutes depending on where you are and the traffic at that hour.

Fifth: while you wait

Take photos of the car where it stands, from a few angles. This takes thirty seconds and settles any later question about the condition it was in.

Remove anything you need from inside — documents, laptop, house keys. Once the car is at the workshop, going back for something is a trip across the city.

If the car is in a paid car park, check whether you owe an exit fee, because the truck cannot leave without clearing the barrier.

A few things worth knowing in advance

Our hours are 6 AM to 11 PM, daily. We are not a 24-hour service and we would rather tell you that now than have you calling at 2 AM with no answer.

We work inside Riyadh. All districts — Al Olaya, Al Malaz, Al Sulaymaniyah, Al Naseem, Al Munsiyah, King Fahd Road, north, south, east and west. Not intercity transport.

Language is not a barrier. Arabic, English and Urdu — say which you prefer at the start of the call.

Ask for the price before the truck is dispatched. Any towing company should be able to quote you once they know the pickup point and the destination. If someone will not give you a number until they arrive, that is worth being cautious about. Our rates are listed openly on the car towing page.

The short version

Get somewhere safe. Work out roughly what is wrong. Do not let anyone drag the car. Have your location, destination and problem ready. Call.

Most breakdowns in Riyadh are resolved within the hour. The stressful part is usually the first ten minutes — and those are the ones you can plan for now, before it happens.

Save 0535382161 in your phone. It takes ten seconds today and saves you searching for a number on the side of a road later.
